Abstract

Life is made of molecules. The combination of these molecules embody soft tissues, by whichtheir interactions create an ocean of self specificphysical patterns: heartbeats, respiration, muscle movements, neural activity, and many more. Today’s device technologies, however, stillface fundamental obstacles which prevent them from seamlessly integrating with these softtissues to effectively access, evaluate and alter suchself specificphysical patterns. In this talk, Iwillintroducedesigningand developingtechniques ofconformableandself specificelectronicsystems to attain a holistic understanding of dynamic changes occurring throughout the humanbody in order to perform early diagnosis, assess disease progression, and provide customizabletreatment. This collectiveresearch, which extends beyond designing and microfabrication ofconformable devices, enables novel communication in between soft tissues to apply and deliverchemistry and physics with molecular precision. These capabilities, therefore, change the waywedo science and address societal challenges in healthcare interventions
