We will discuss the advancements in sensor technologies, the rise of connected appliances, and the applications of AI and machine learning in product development. Additionally, we will highlight the importance of cybersecurity in an increasingly digital world and the need for talent development to drive innovation. Join us as we navigate through these topics and uncover how digital technologies can pave the way for a more sustainable future.
Bio: Emre Oguz was born in 1977 in Istanbul, Turkey. After graduation from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Mechanical Engineering Department in 1998, he continued his graduate studies at the Institute of Science and Technology of ITU and at the same time joined Arçelik A.Ş. R&D Center as a research assistant. In 2000 he continued his career at Arçelik A.Ş. Central R&D as an R&D engineer in the field of thermodynamics and refrigeration systems. Until 2006 he conducted several R&D projects on refrigeration systems, alternative cooling technologies and the environmental impact of refrigerants. In 2006 he received his Ph.D. degree from ITU Institute of Science and Technology and continued his career at Arçelik as R&D Specialist. He was awarded for his Ph.D. thesis in 2010 by the Technology Development Foundation of Turkey (TTGV).
Emre Oguz was appointed as the Team Leader of the Thermodynamics Group at Arçelik R&D Center in 2011 and he was assigned as the Manager of Technology Management and R&D Incentives in 2014. He joined several innovation and entrepreneurship programmes by Technopolis Group, Dale Carnegie and ESADE Business School and worked on technology management processes, R&D ecosystems and innovation capabilities of corporations. In 2016 he was appointed as the Group Manager of Mechanical Technologies and in 2019 as the Plant Manager of Arcelik A.Ş. Compressor Plant in Eskisehir. Since 2021 he has been working as the Executive Director, R&D, at Arçelik A.Ş.
